John Wise is a retired fruit grower turned photography aficionado. He has always had a passion for photography but started spending more time doing it once he retired. John goes out every day to shoot and is likely to go off in any direction. John grew up around this area but moved to Oroville back in ’92 and raised his family here.
Photography is a passion of John’s, “It never gets old and gets me out”. From just one outing he can take up to 250 photos, so he has amassed a sizable amount, not all of which he prints or posts. John has been known to just stop in the middle of road to get a picture he wants to capture at times.
John posts photos on his Facebook page daily. He enjoys taking pictures of old barns, rustic and derelict buildings, parked patinaed old vehicles, as well as snowy scenery as it simplifies the scene. He likes to shoot abstract, scenic, and animals, but doesn’t particularly care for portraits.
John is driven more by sharing his art with others than he is by making a sale.
“Photography preserves these scenes as they slip away over time, they need to be captured and shared.” – John Wise
